Directions & Parking

Directions to the Boston University indoor rowing tanks

108 Ashford Street, Boston, MA 02134

(Make sure to allow for traffic–it’s a busy area.)

The tanks are in a warehouse close to the corner of Babcock St.
There is a large parking lot across the street–it costs about $5.00 to park.
There also is some on-street parking.  Make sure to feed the meter until 6:00 pm.
You walk into a truck bay, go up a ramp on the right and through a big, heavy sliding door (which will be ajar).

There is no place to change in the tanks (no bathrooms either!)–it really is in a warehouse.
However, there are bathrooms in a nearby building.

Directions to Boston University’s DeWolfe Boathouse

619 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA 02139

(Please allow enough time to get there, park and walk to the boathouse.)

There is no parking at the boathouse.  However, on the weekend and in the evenings you can park in any MIT lot that does not have a gate.

If you go to the MIT website ( http://web.mit.edu/facilities/transportation/parking/visitors/ ) you will see a map that lists available sites.  There is also metered parking but be mindful that you need to feed the meters with quarters until at least 8:00 pm.

  • 600 Memorial Drive Lot.  This is right across the street from the boathouse.  Crossing Memorial Drive is tricky but possible.
  • There is also metered parking on Vassar St. and a small parking lot on Amesbury St. (across from the Hyatt–at the stoplight).
